Decomposition and weathering are natural cycles that occur in our world non-stop. The attempts to resist them are a survival like action. Restoration, conservation, and repair are part of an effort to extend the existence of the material a little more, or even to try and turn back time.
The materials are meager, humble, bare, and simple. The repair or reconstruction focuses on the shell, the exterior, one that is already emptied of its interior parts, just as the awareness of the action itself being unfeasible and hopeless.
The effort to attach to the material and to latch on to the residue by connecting to something that slips through the fingers, and yet is controlled for a few moments - exists in a delicate balance between the moment of barely existing and the moment of extinction. Between important, expensive, and waste. Through the devotion to the moment itself.
The actions of emptying and repairing promote exploration and affinity to marginalized objects as well as creating an option of exploring from the outside – inwards. the attempt to understand, and grasp turns out to be content itself.
